Poetry and music explore the secrets of the soul and the struggles of the heart and mind. It’s the fruit of many processes, often born of struggles; it grows the garden of the soul and is usually a form of prayer to me. The book of Psalms spares no feeling, explores every subject, and inspires us to be honest with God in our writing. I’m often inspired to write after a period of prayer for others and myself. Many of the poems below are from my first book, “Everyday Matters” (No longer in print). When you click the title of a poem, it may bring you to a blog entry. The poem is usually at the bottom or top of the page of the blog entry.

I’ve recently picked up the poetry quill and will publish a new book soon. I pray the fruit of verse born from my struggles, honesty, and prayer can reveal the dimensions of an unfathomable and loving God.

With Love and Joy,
