Don’t Give Up

Do you ever feel like God is distant when you pray? Remember, His desire for us to know Him is much greater than our own. I used to read Hebrews 11:6 from a corrective stance. However, today, I saw it differently. In this scripture, God boils our faith down to the very basic element. Step 1: believe that He exists. A quick observation of the world or the miracle of the bodily system shows proof of a Master Creator. Step 2. Believe that He rewards those who seek Him. This is but a small step. Consider how God paid the ultimate price, providing a crimson path from our sinful state to His faithful forgiveness. Of course, He will reward us when we seek Him. Keep persevering, keep seeking; God always makes it worth it.

"He who didn’t spare his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how would he not also with him freely give us all things? 33 Who could bring a charge against God’s chosen ones? It is God who justifies. 34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, yes rather, who was raised from the dead, who is at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.” Romans 8:32-34

Prayer

Lord, I believe in You and hold to the promise that You will hear and reward me for seeking You. I ask that You give me Your supernatural wisdom in this battle that I face, giving you the discouragement, sadness, and self-pity. I will use that energy to hold fast to Your word and Your promises, for in this, You will reward me. Thank you, God, for Your direction, help, and faithfulness. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.

“Without faith it is impossible to be well pleasing to him, for he who comes to God must believe that he exists, and that he is a rewarder of those who seek him." Hebrews 11:6WEB
