In Revelation, the church at Ephesus is commended for its perseverance and for rejecting false teaching in a culture filled with perversion and idol worship. Yet even this faithful church received a sobering correction — they had lost their first love. It’s a reminder that standing for truth must never replace walking in love. When our hearts grow hard from battle, God calls us back to tenderness, compassion, and the gospel of love that first drew us to Him.
