Biblical encouragement for every season of life

Christmas has become more of a whirlwind than worship. With lists to finish, gifts to wrap, gatherings to attend, and memories to create, we are busier than ever. None of these things are wrong; but the blessings in everyday life can tempt us away from the true purpose.

The One who came quietly to a stable still comes quietly to us—without fanfare, without pressure, without demands. He knocks softly, not to add one more thing to our overloaded calendars, but asking us to take a moment to lay aside the weight we’ve placed on ourselves.

When we return our gaze to Jesus, the frenzy fades. Peace begins to pour back in. The true joy enlightens our hearts. And Christmas becomes what it was always meant to be: a celebration of a Savior who stepped into our world to free us from our earthly bonds.

This season, may we pause long enough to quietly welcome Him and not make mistake of thinking our extra Christmas activities are worship. Here’s a little poem I wrote last year that you can find in my book about this very thing.
