Who I Am
I’m Sandy Poop— wife, mother, and grandmother, immeasurably grateful for a second chance at life.
I’ve been married since 1988 to a determined, intelligent man who refuses to be defined by disability. Together, we raised two creative, driven children and now delight in our growing family, including our grandchildren.
Cancer
In 2014, I was diagnosed with advanced, aggressive Stage IV breast cancer. We chose to walk that journey privately as a family. The experience reshaped how I see faith, suffering, and hope—and I still rely on courage and grace every day.
Sharing
I write A Cup of Courage, a weekly blog where I share Scripture-rooted reflections, prayer, and encouragement for those walking through dark or uncertain seasons. I often include devotional poetry and a closing prayer, and occasionally share these reflections in person as well.
Storytelling has always been part of who I am. Today, through writing, quiet speaking, and faith-centered reflection, I seek to point others to the enduring, redemptive love of God—present, personal, and near.
Whether through my blog, books, or speaking engagements, my heart is to inspire and uplift through the world’s most powerful redemptive love story.
This is just the beginning. I call it “Stage Five” of my journey—and it starts here.
